Monday after school the only thing missing was an occasional bullseye. The Spartan archers had their first session with coach Victor and everyone demonstrated steady hands and great aim. More than a dozen students came out to shoot their shot and by the end of the afternoon, arrows flew true and steady. We are truly Spartans
Emery seniors get mentor assistance personally
The University of California is creating a partnership with Emery High School, and the class of 2025 has the week to sign up with CAMP, the College mentoring program that pairs an undergraduate who recently graduated with our students who aspire to graduation and college. Just another way for seniors and colleges to connect
Club Thursday
One of the ways we are building connection is by promoting and finding clubs that kids love. This Thursday we have a pair of winners--one is the Creative Writing Club that is meeting Thursday and then going on a study trip to Cal Shakespeare next week. Then after school, Ms. Ruff is breaking out the sewing machines to bring our newest club the Sewing Circle to help bond, have fun and create some handcrafts of their own imagination. There's thread waiting somewhere for you.
Water World for Emery
The pool is a big part of what makes Emery High special. This Friday a unique opportunity is happening when we get a movie night too. Join the community starting at around 6:30 p.m. for a showing of the Little Mermaid while you swim, float or paddle. Then Saturday, it is everyone to the beach as we do a cleanup day to keep our coast looking its best. Everyone in the water this weekend, Spartans!

Progress Reports Friday
This Friday is the first significant marking period for Emery High School. We are going to print out how students are doing one month into the school year. Use this as a significant check in point. The first grades that have impact will be five weeks from now, when we mark Quarter grades (determines eligibility and qualifications for markers like Honor Roll). A great midway point to check in.
Clean up with Spartan students
This weekend, we are going to the beach. We are going to do more than catch some waves and soak up rays. We are coming with our Green Team to do some coast clean up. This is a great way to build community and when we get there, we will know it is much cleaner!
Volleyball is Back!
The Lady Spartans have a new coach and a new team. It's Girls Volleyball and it is happening this and every Friday. We think that is especially lucky! Coach is going to get the girls ready for some game time by season's end, and hopes to build the squad to be ready for the spring and the years ahead. Make sure you have the grades and the belief. We will see you in the gym ready to serve, spike and slam.
College Counselor makes Emery her home
Ms. Kayla Cabrera, a UC Berkeley graduate is here at Emery full time now every day. She will be in the counselor's office and here to assist our students on their path to the next steps in their academic journeys. Say hi and find out more about your future today

This upcoming week is a great time for our college bound students and families to learn lots from universities at all levels across the Bay and state.
